New Cybersecurity Tools Arrive August 2026

August 21, 2026 — Security vendors expanded their portfolios this week with tools designed to handle artificial intelligence traffic and complex network environments. F5 Networks introduced updates to its AI Gateway, while NETSCOUT extended its DDoS protection capabilities to cover outbound traffic. Intezer and Tufin also released new features aimed at streamlining security operations.

F5 enhanced its F5 AI Gateway, integrating the solution into the broader F5 AI Security Platform. The updated gateway enforces policies on every AI request, allowing enterprises to govern how models and agents are accessed and used. The update also focuses on optimizing the economics of AI at scale.

The platform provides a unified control plane to manage AI tools. It gives organizations visibility into how these models are utilized across their infrastructure. This helps companies maintain security standards while managing the costs associated with large-scale AI deployments.

NETSCOUT announced an extension to its Adaptive DDoS Protection (ADP) solution. The update enables service providers to detect and mitigate outbound DDoS attack traffic. Previously, these protections focused on incoming attacks, but the new extension shifts the focus toward the source of the traffic.

Operators can now prevent compromised subscriber devices from disrupting their own networks. These devices often consume costly capacity and attack other organizations across the internet. The extension helps operators block the source of the attack, rather than just the destination.

Security teams often struggle to trace the origin of traffic that leaves their network. This creates a blind spot where a compromised device can operate for some time before detection. By moving protection toward the source, the system reduces the window of opportunity for attackers.

Intezer released Workflows, a new feature for its platform. It allows security teams to create and customize response workflows directly inside the Intezer interface. The tool aims to eliminate the need for a separate Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) system.

Workflows brings response capabilities into the same environment where alerts are triaged and investigated. This integration reduces the friction between detection and remediation. Security analysts can automate post-investigation actions without switching between different software applications.

Tufin released the Tufin Orchestration Suite (TOS) 5.3 and a new AI-powered Segmentation Intelligence solution. The suite helps enterprises simplify security operations in complex, multi-vendor environments. It maintains consistent control across hybrid setups where security policies might drift over time.

The AI tool analyzes segmentation policies to understand the organization’s intent. It identifies gaps or inconsistencies in how traffic is restricted between network segments. The system recommends specific changes to close these gaps and ensure that policies match the intended security posture.
